Arsonists

The corpse wind
Stings his eyes
His acidic tears
Shovel holes in his skin.

Black smoke
Curls out of his pores
Burnt air
Vapourises his throat

Vapour burnt to ash
There is nothing left to burn
Yet he tries to breathe
He tries different chemical reactions.

Even though all his plants burnt
He grew more in the soil
That could photosynthesise
And extinguish the burnt air.

Rainbows

Water drips
Through light that drowns the air
All the colours breathe apart
Every colour sees water and light
In a different shade.

Even light can drip through water,
But only if it refracts.

Melt Right Now

The silent blue air
Tints the icy leaves
Glass painted tones of green
The bark stands like frozen cocoa
Its breath smells like mint chocolate.

The sound
Of the chainsaw
Shivered the tree
The heat screamed out its tears.

The man who holds the chainsaw
Metallic ice glazes his eyes
He cannot see the tree's screams
His eyes cannot melt at low temperatures.

Needles On Fire

A star’s shine
Is like a bouquet of ignited needles
Our eyes are sewn by cross stitching
Yet the needles do not pierce them.

The needles do not pierce through eyes
The needles pierce through self doubt.

Shadow Puppets

In darkness
We cannot see
But without it
We wouldn’t see light.

Darkness is inferior to light
Darkness is evil
It blinds our light;
Performs shadow puppets in our mind.

Light is too clear
Darkness makes it beautiful
But we forget
Even light can blind.

Displacement Reaction

Thoughts wander in a desert
Rain give them meaning and peace
But sometimes
Deserts flood by rain.

What senses microscope
Paints the weather that we feel
Sometimes too much paint poisons the heart
The heart confides to the mind.

The mind feels afraid
And the symptoms show in mirrors
The fear it feels
Is the fear of possibility.

Not knowing
Only initiates as fear
God performs displacement reactions
Fear is displaced with hope.

When it floods
Remember god
He gave you the mind
To make a boat.

Vacuum Holes

My mind is a conscious nightmare
I am awake
But cannot stop thinking
My heart is an electric shovel
It keeps digging
But cannot stop feeling.

My mind aches
My heart’s blood lakes
I am clogged.

I am massaged with pain
The pain pokes holes
I feel like a sift in space.

As my mind grew
As my heart flew
I see more
I feel more
But realise nothing.

The size of my eyes do not change
It’s how much I squint
It’s how much I widen
I want to realise.

Inertia

We elevate our eyes
In the sky for hope
But will never
Have flapping wings.

The pull of gravity
Magnets us to the ground
When we drown
The water feels like liquid electricity.

We are black holed into lust
Orbited into power
It is easy to travel force
But the beauty lies in rebellion.

It is easier to move
Towards a force that pulls
That is why we cannot fly
But still sit in aeroplanes.

Some see the choice
Between gravity and hope.

Unhygienic Glitter

We’re born into this world unglittered
We cry out innocence
We don’t know how to crawl or walk
Don’t know how to dance.

With time clouds form above us
Clouds of our complexes and insecurities
Vapours of our lies and fears
Glitter rains and seatbelts on our skin.

Glitter charms us through time
But leaves our soul holed
We become so hair sprayed
Even our eyes can’t wash out the shine.

No matter how much we bathe
We won’t see ourselves clean
Our mirrors blind us with reflected glitter
We can’t see our soul.

I long for the day
Everyone will be alive
When God’s breath
Will breeze the glitter away.

Adaptation

The burning metallic flames
Blackened me with pain
My scream couldn’t save me
Through my blood fire trained.

The metals sublimed
And travelled into my bones
The pain was so much
And my tears were so dry.

The burning acupunctured every cell
In the suffering I dissolved
I could no longer feel
No longer cry.

If I were to exist
In hell for eternity
The burning fire
Would no longer cause me pain.

Autumn

Pieces of twigs bullet across
They pierce through the air
The breeze snatches leaves
The orange sky breathes through bare trees.

The fire burns down trees
Another tree is shot
Another tree bleeds
The breeze snatched burnt leaves.

The man tears leaves off
One by one they parachute
Their green tears rust on the ground
The trees are stripped naked.

Who said only in autumn leaves fall?

Sand Castle

God drew a line
Only human eyes can see
But the line
No one can be.

While people look at the sky
They walk across the ground
But if they look too high
Like in quicksand they will drown.

When people fall from above
They gaze at the ground
Too afraid to look above
Even though they’re falling down.

Yet on the seashore
While building sand castles
No one sees the sky or sea
They’re lost in the line they cannot be.

Brain Dead

The heart rains blood
Through the body it floods
It transports meaning to life
It diffuses feeling to our human.

The brain dictates
Nerves electrocute reason
We walk through life
Robot dancing.

As clocks ticked by
The heart and brain grew apart
Criticised for their beauty
Denying their perfect love.

It is with the heart we feel
But it is the mind
Which recites poetry.

Court

You tripped out of your car
You rolled across the road
Didn’t know what your eyes could see
Your balance let you free.

You’re waiting for someone to pick you up
While waiting you became a part of the road
You let people drive over you
And poison you with car smoke.

You blame the slippery road
You blame your worn out shoes
The truth remains that you fell
But instead of standing up you sue.

Don’t blame the shoes you walk in
Blame the feet walking in them.

Beach

His scaly skin grew gills
As he drowned in saline tears
He swam across the tears fast
But could not surface his own fears.

He used to live on the ground
The sunlight refracted through his hair
His lungs could breathe the breeze
He walked and the floor didn’t tear.

He swam and walked
But he never did reach
He couldn’t choose where to stop
He could never surface the beach.

Shoe Size

When he tried on her shoes
He walked through her pain
He wiped away her tears
And the blood she drained.

He tightened the laces
And ran along her path
He thought she was evil
Until he fell in cracks.

He thought the opposite of love is hate
But didn’t feel it when he tried on her shoes
He took her shoes off and put his shoes on
His ego turned his hate to love.

To feel love is to feel everything
To feel the opposite is to feel nothing.

Tear The Dress

There she drowns in her blinding dress
As she walks, it drags like minions
Imitating her every move
The truth dug with her stiletto shoes.

There she drowns in a dress of lies
As she walks, they drag and hinder
Hinder her every move
When she’ll step on her dress and trip
She’ll tear everything apart
Even truth’s sealed lip.

There I drown in a dress sewn with tears
As I walk, I leave a trail
Those invisible tears could slip me
But I mop them as I go
Only longing for her to slip and see.

There I stand
Drowned in tears
Drenched in another’s sins
Soaked in another’s fears
The only breath I take is the wind blown at my skin.

She digs at me with her stiletto shoes
Like a dagger piercing through me
The only one blocking my blood to ooze is myself
Where is she?

Innocent Mirror

Look into your mirror
And tell me what you see
Is it really you?
Or someone you cannot be.

Don’t look at someone else’s mirror
And tell them who they should be
Looking in their mirror
Will not change what your mirror sees.

When you look into your mirror
Are you sure you see yourself?
As you gaze into your eyes
Are you sure your eyes aren’t reflecting someone else?

It’s not the mirror’s fault,
That it reflects someone else
How do you expect a mirror to reflect you
If you don’t know who you are yourself.

His Eyes See Only Thorns

He never knew how to grow his trees
He kept cutting them down, he tore their leaves
His heart not knew if it watered his seeds
His air not knew when it should breeze.

All day he ploughed his land
Not knowing his seed lost in the sand
The water he did seek was left evaporate
He let no help across his gate.

His gate his heart locked
All his streams and light left blocked
His flowers and leaves, thorns and twigs mocked
But they could never be reality that shocked.

Even though every man saw his flowers and leaves
He was left with thorns and twigs to weave.

Electroplate

She electroplated silver
She electroplated gold
Metals covering lies
Truths striving to unfold.

The plates although chip off
And sometimes they fade
Truth will parade her naked
And naked she will stroll.

A lie can never be
Without a truth behind it
Lies plate her into blinding shine
Lies wall her into mesmerizing diamond.

She electroplates
Thinking plates never fade
She bricks walls
Thinking they're built with diamond.

Even though diamonds don't electroplate
They brick roofs and walls
Imprisoning truth
But truth cuts through diamond.
