Hearing Aid

In the dark starless night
The street lights smoke and burn
I still see a star
And it’s blinding.

Nobody sees or knows
Yet I can see its light
And even though it blinded me once
I still feel its shine.

Somehow
No star sees me
I feel like the absence of light
My existence no star can see.

In the dark starless night
I still see you on the ground
Reality and fantasy fight,
To see if you hear my heartbeat’s sound.

I probably don’t shine
But how could you not hear my heart chime?

Graph Paper

She tried to draw lines
She tried to draw curves
She tried to intersect
But no line could draw her.

She’s walking around graphs
Her mind’s become nomadic
No coordinate is her reality
Her equations turned to magic.

She’s sick of dreams
She’s sick of fantasy
In her math book she lost her page,
While turning pages to find reality.

Everyone longs for reality
Fantasy can be denied.
