Arsonists

The corpse wind
Stings his eyes
His acidic tears
Shovel holes in his skin.

Black smoke
Curls out of his pores
Burnt air
Vapourises his throat

Vapour burnt to ash
There is nothing left to burn
Yet he tries to breathe
He tries different chemical reactions.

Even though all his plants burnt
He grew more in the soil
That could photosynthesise
And extinguish the burnt air.

Rainbows

Water drips
Through light that drowns the air
All the colours breathe apart
Every colour sees water and light
In a different shade.

Even light can drip through water,
But only if it refracts.

Melt Right Now

The silent blue air
Tints the icy leaves
Glass painted tones of green
The bark stands like frozen cocoa
Its breath smells like mint chocolate.

The sound
Of the chainsaw
Shivered the tree
The heat screamed out its tears.

The man who holds the chainsaw
Metallic ice glazes his eyes
He cannot see the tree's screams
His eyes cannot melt at low temperatures.
