Innocent Mirror

Look into your mirror
And tell me what you see
Is it really you?
Or someone you cannot be.

Don’t look at someone else’s mirror
And tell them who they should be
Looking in their mirror
Will not change what your mirror sees.

When you look into your mirror
Are you sure you see yourself?
As you gaze into your eyes
Are you sure your eyes aren’t reflecting someone else?

It’s not the mirror’s fault,
That it reflects someone else
How do you expect a mirror to reflect you
If you don’t know who you are yourself.

His Eyes See Only Thorns

He never knew how to grow his trees
He kept cutting them down, he tore their leaves
His heart not knew if it watered his seeds
His air not knew when it should breeze.

All day he ploughed his land
Not knowing his seed lost in the sand
The water he did seek was left evaporate
He let no help across his gate.

His gate his heart locked
All his streams and light left blocked
His flowers and leaves, thorns and twigs mocked
But they could never be reality that shocked.

Even though every man saw his flowers and leaves
He was left with thorns and twigs to weave.

Electroplate

She electroplated silver
She electroplated gold
Metals covering lies
Truths striving to unfold.

The plates although chip off
And sometimes they fade
Truth will parade her naked
And naked she will stroll.

A lie can never be
Without a truth behind it
Lies plate her into blinding shine
Lies wall her into mesmerizing diamond.

She electroplates
Thinking plates never fade
She bricks walls
Thinking they're built with diamond.

Even though diamonds don't electroplate
They brick roofs and walls
Imprisoning truth
But truth cuts through diamond.
